Wamp server icon not turning to Green Cause of C++ Redistributable
WAMP SERVER ICON NOT TURNING TO GREEN OR NOT WORKING
HOW TO FIX
First you need check is whether any software using the port 8080 like Skype . you can check the port bY clicking the wamp icon located in system tray
Apache ->Service-> Test port 80
It will show you which software using ports 8080 mostly Skype using the port 8080.
Go to Skype and follow these step:
Go to Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Connection and uncheck the box “use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections and Unmark it “.
restart Skype and Wamp server again
If this Solution doesn’t work then move on next Step.
If you install WAMPServer before you install the C++ Redistributable, it won’t work even after you’ve installed it because you will miss a critical step in the installation where you tell Windows Firewall to let Apache run.
- Uninstall WAMP by running the unins file in the wamp directory
- Download and install the basic package here [http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328]
- Restart your computer
- Install WAMP again. You should see a message with a purple feather telling you to allow access. Do so, and you should be all good
